Noosapalooza® held at Noosa Heads

Noosapalooza® Trading & Investment Conference 2015 was a huge success and the feedback has been excellent:

“I found the event to be excellent. The organisation and timing of events was very well done, the location was outstanding and Nick and his guests put on informative and entertaining (and diverse) sessions. Nick and Trish [Radge] were great hosts and the entire experience was top notch.” Paul H, WA

Prior to establishing Bellmont, Peter worked as an intra-day bond futures trader in the UK. He then moved into a client facing role as an adviser at a Sydney based broking firm, going on to become head of the derivatives desk, with responsibility for 13 advisers.

Peter will be discussing the benefits of using covered calls within an investment portfolio to increase income and lower volatility. This is a great topic for those looking for strategies to diversify their portfolio further.

Rob O’Donnell

Rob O’Donnell is Senior Financial Planner at Stratogen based in Noosa. His clients are based generally on the Sunshine Coast but he also has a large client base in Mount Isa which he visits every couple of months.

Rob works with a number of local accounting and legal firms on a fee basis. As a financial planner he helps his clients set plans for the future, advises on strategies to reduce tax and increase pensions and acts as their trusted adviser in many decisions. Establishing and managing SMSFs, building share and investment portfolios and advising on Insurance needs are the tools Rob uses to assist his clients.

Rob will be discussing whether a SMSF is right for you and if so, what you need to know to ensure you maximize the benefit of your SMSF.

Nick Radge

In this Noosapalooza® presentation on Relative Momentum Nick will be discussing his interpretation and research on a topic that has been well discussed by academics for decades but is now becoming an acceptable approach to investing.

We hope you learn an extremely simple yet robust way of managing your capital and doing so with minimal workload. This is a concept that is usually offered by hedge funds but is certainly something that you can take home and put into place for yourself.

Peter Hammersley

Pete will be talking about how he got into trading and working for The Chartist. Pete Hammersley is a technical analyst responsible for the daily ASX Chart Research at The Chartist. Pete will be discussing a few ASX stocks to watch and updating you on how he became an analyst and joined The Chartist.

Phillip McGregor

Phillip McGregor runs a small accounting practice. He trades and invests to support his love of travel, family and his wife Susan’s love of shoes.

Phillip loves researching, testing and tweaking his trading strategies. He is always keen to share his research and so contacted Nick when he felt he had come up with a way of improving the results of The Chartist’s Growth Portfolio. He sent Nick his research data and Nick was suitably impressed. Nick felt that Phillip’s research, whilst outside the scope of The Chartist, was worth sharing and it is the reason Phillip is presenting today. Phillip has been a client of The Chartist since 2006.

At Noosapalooza® Phillip will be discussing the addition of a fundamental filter to a trading strategy to improve its results. At the end of the session you will have learnt a well-defined way to combine both technicals and fundamentals and that the outcome offers great rewards.

Nick Radge – Improving an Active Investment Strategy

In this session Nick will be building on the material presented to you by Phillip McGregor in the previous session. Nick will be discussing his ongoing research in trend following specifically the pursuit of better returns whilst limiting the downside.

Scott Goddard

Scott Goddard was a client of The Chartist prior to joining the team. Scott originally learned to trade and was mentored by Nick whilst working in a different industry. He has a Bachelor of Psychology and is very interested in the psychology of trading. At Noosapalooza® Scott will outline his top 5 trading Words of Wisdom. Scott will also be presenting Global charts to watch.

Nick Radge – Diversifying into US Markets

In Nick’s final presentation for Noosapalooza® Nick will be looking at ways to diversify your trading outside the Australian market and specifically into US markets. He will discuss the benefits of trading US shares and why you, managing your own assets, should consider the options open to you in this area. With some basic understanding you can participate in one of the world’s biggest market places with ease.

Peter Gardiakos

Peter Gardiakos is a successful businessman, entrepreneur and philanthropist. Peter’s roles are many and varied: he is co-founder and director of Star Pharmacy Group, a multi-million dollar company that purchases and manages (currently) 39 pharmacy stores in QLD, NSW and SA. The goal of Star Pharmacy Group is to acquire and develop good pharmacies into great community pharmacies offering knowledgeable advice and friendly service – the kind of chemist store we all remember being at the heart of our village shopping centres.

Peter is also a director at SOL Results. SOL was founded in 2004 and is dedicated to assisting others in personal and professional development via training, coaching and personal development.

Scott Goddard mentioned, trading is 80% psychology and 20% strategy. In the next 2 sessions Peter will be helping us with the 80% – showing us how to achieve trading success so we know what that looks like and then how to break old habits and patterns to ensure our success.
