ASX Commentary

Weekly Trend: Up
Daily Trend: Up
Daily Momentum: ___ Up

A quiet day on our market which could prove the case until the EU summit on Friday. Some ground was made on the open as our market had factored in more of a decline on US markets overnight than actually occurred – US market closed flat. It was all choppy range trading thereafter, drifting into gain of 0.7% for the XJO. Small caps lagged and volumes were very light. Gold was the only sector in the red, down 1.1% and the best performers were Telecommunications, Property Trusts and Health, all up 1.2% or better. Absent any unforeseen news for the market to react to, the EU Summit could be the next market mover of note. US futures are trading up around half a percent at the time of writing.
