ASX Commentary

Weekly Trend: Down
Daily Trend: Down
Daily Momentum: ___ Down

It was a reasonably solid night on US markets overnight; the Dow Jones closed one percent higher, up just over 123 points, whilst the Nasdaq put on 1.5%. These rises were aided by the economic news out of China yesterday which was already factored into our market with the rises yesterday. As a result, today was lacklustre; choppy trading early followed by declines in early afternoon. An erratic recovery effort thereafter failed to excite the bulls. The XJO closing down 18.2 points for the session. Another long trade has been added for aggressive traders should the market find some strength. We’ve also put in a couple of short trades but tread carefully as the market has not yet bounced as we’d like to get set for further weakness. We may see further consolidation in this support zone before the next move. US futures just over 0.3% lower in night trading at the time of writing.
