A flat finish to a very subdued day on the market which traded in tight range on low volume. Early losses were negated with a choppy but persistent rally through the middle of the day, only to run out of steam and fade into the close over the last two hours. US markets gave up gains late in the session on comments from the Federal Reserve, add that to Europe and locally some disappointing consumer confidence figures and you have plenty of doom and gloom about. Without doubt the Eurozone issues are a dark cloud hanging over the market so until more positive action is seen to resolve the issue its hard to see the market making much headway, but you never know.
