ASX Commentary

Weekly Trend: Neutral
Daily Trend: Up
Daily Momentum: ___ Up

Down in morning trade and up in afternoon trade pretty much sums up the day on the ASX. Price action was a little choppy and volume on the light side once again. The XJO closed down 23.3 points, a decline of 0.6% for the day whilst the Small Ordinaries closed 0.9% lower, so generally the small caps off more than the large. Sectors were mostly in the red, with the exception of Information Technology, Utilities and Consumer groups. All in all, a rather sedate session which followed a similar result on US markets overnight. The S&P 500 and Dow Jones closed basically flat after a choppy, range bound day, although the Nasdaq Composite did better, up 0.7%. US futures are pretty flat at the time of writing and the Australian Dollar has fought back of late to be close to parity again. The ASX Systematic Portfolio remains on, just, and there was no cigar for the Growth Portfolio but ever so close.
