ASX Commentary

Weekly Trend: Up
Daily Trend: Up
Daily Momentum: ___ Up

After the recent strong run and a very sedate night on US markets, the All Ordinaries and the XJO had a pretty quiet session. The day’s trading range was tight and price action very choppy. Both indices closed 0.3% higher. Sectors were mixed with the standouts for those closing in positive territory being the Metals/Mining and Materials sectors which closed up 1.1 and 1% respectively. Of those suffering to the downside, Consumer Staples and Energy fared worst losing 0.8 and 0.6% respectively. Shanghai is up more than 1.3% at the time of writing, adding to +1% gains made yesterday. US futures are currently down slightly in night trading and the Australian Dollar is taking a slight breather – currently at 1.0331 against the USD.
