ASX Commentary

Weekly Trend: Up
Daily Trend: Down
Daily Momentum: ___ Down

A choppy session on our market today saw the XJO close pretty much where it opened and trade either side of those points during the day in a very tight trading range. The Dow Jones did the same thing overnight, so both very flat sessions. We are effectively in no-man’s land at the moment and will remain so  until the market determines a direction to take. For now it is sideways. This lack of movement shows in the absence of quality set ups at the moment – hard to find good long or short setups. The daily trend remains down, but not convincingly so. There has been an increase in volumes the last two days so perhaps something is near. The US futures are up at time of writing, but the night traders have seemed more enthusiastic than the day session lately. The S&P futures are currently up over 9 points.
