ASX Commentary

Weekly Trend: Up
Daily Trend: Up
Daily Momentum: ___ Flat

The theme of small range days and small gains continued today, with the XJO up around 0.3% on thin volume. The Materials and Metals/Mining sectors were once again amongst the strongest, ably supported by the Gold and Utilities sectors today. The same theme of small range days and small gains is also evident on the Dow Jones, with new recent highs last night. We are watching the Dow Transports for bullish confirmation and it is doing its best to not confirm. Last night it put in a high outside recent consolidation but closed back inside the pattern. The AUD continues to show its strength and is challenging new highs against the USD and holding above parity. New highs against the Euro for the AUD have also been seen as the Euro continues its slide.
