ASX Commentary

Weekly Trend: Down
Daily Trend: Down
Daily Momentum: ___ Up

A quiet day on the Australian market today. Low volume, a very tight trading range and a choppy session saw the XJO basically finish where it started for the day. The end result was a close down 9 points. The sectors were mixed and mostly flat, although the Industrials, Materials and the Metals.Mining sectors all closed 0.7% lower. We are still technically in a downtrend although if the market manages to further recent gains in the coming days this may change. Short trade setups remain scarce and we have posted several long trades today for aggressive traders. The Australian Dollar hit new highs in Friday’s trading so now is eyeing off new records against the Greenback as the strength in our currency continues. It is trading at 1.0278 at the time of writing.
