ASX Commentary

Weekly Trend: Neutral
Daily Trend: Neutral
Daily Momentum: ___ Down

A lack-lustre day which saw morning declines opposed by an afternoon rally of sorts, the market finishing slightly lower on low volume. Hard to see any major lift in volume ahead of Wednesday’s deadline for a US Congressional super committee to sort out US debt issues and Thanksgiving day on Thursday. Today’s lower close which has followed a week of weakness was enough to turn both the ASX Systematic and Growth Portfolios to ‘off’ and therefore see the resultant tightening of stops and cessation for buy signals for both systems. The market now sits at the base of a trading range built over the last month and a half so there is a chance of a small bounce off support but movement in the aforementioned time period has been not at all convincing.
