ASX Commentary

Weekly Trend: Up
Daily Trend: Flat
Daily Momentum: ___ Up

Solid gains were made on the open and choppy range trading took place thereafter. The market drifted lower in the last couple of hours to close almost twenty points off the high and volume was very light. Small caps lagged as the Small Ordinaries closed 1% higher, compared to the XJO with gains of 1.2%. Energy and Health were the standout sectors, both putting on just over 2%. Today’s gains were enough to switch the ASX Systematic Portfolio back on after only going off on Friday – hopefully the market can put in some gains enough to distance itself from these levels so we don’t have an ‘on again, off again’ situation.
