ASX Commentary

Weekly Trend: Flat
Daily Trend: Down
Daily Momentum: ___ Down

Major US indices gave up most of their opening gains to post small advances, and our market followed suit opening marginally higher. It was a pretty lacklustre day, trading within a small range, ending with an afternoon rally which was most likely prompted by some strength from US futures during their night session, up about 0.6% at the time of writing. The XJO closed 0.5% higher for the day on moderate volume and 1.04% lower for the week whilst Small Ordinaries and the resources sectors rebounded fairly well today. With only one trading week to go and a short session next Friday, Santa is leaving his run rather late!
